Hi!  My name is Lauren Kay.  I am a Professional Thinker and Question Creator.  Yep, that's my official title. 

I grew up lost in thought and that thought was always followed by a question which was usually followed by why?  LOL  Most people thought I was destined to be a lawyer.  In a small way, I think I thought that as well.   But life had other plans for me.  None of those plans are really pleasant to talk about until marriage and kids took over. Then life became fun.  Really fun. 

You should know right out of the gate that I believe I am saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.  This is what I base my life on.  He is my everything. 

My husband Bill and I have been married for almost 33 years!  Can you believe it?  He's my best friend and together we have had 4 boys, 3 girls, and 5 grand kids.  Life has had it's fair share of ups and down but we feel as though as we are the luckiest people on the planet. 

You can find me with my toes in the sand every chance I get.  If I'm not at the beach curled up with a book or floating around on a boogie board then my kitchen is where you will find me.  I am a life long baker pursuing low card and sugar free baking for the last 5 years. Spring and Summer means a book and cold Hibiscus tea while Fall and Winter means fireplaces and hot Chai Lattes under a blanket planning the next years warm weather adventures.  

I spend a large part of my time as an essential oil and natural health educator and hand holder.  One of my favorite parts of that time is spending it stirring hope and encouraging others.  

I am a life long learner reserving the right to grow, learn, and change my mind.

One year ago today they were putting up our sign on the outside of the building.  Along with that we declared a soft opening with Dec. 1st scheduled as our official grand opening.  I was scared, excited, and honestly, a little bewildered as to where my friends were. This isn't your average one year post. It's raw, real and honest but I am writing it with a hope of healing some unmet expectations that I had going into this adventure.
